Nils Hammar was one of the earliest Skype employees. He was hired on to manage the product and marketing teams in Europe and the US. He also created the genealogy site Kindo, which was later bought by My Heritage.
In 2011 Hammar founded Saltside, a company that develops and operates online marketplaces in emerging markets. As more people in emerging economies gain access to the internet with cell phones and inexpensive connections, Saltside believes that quality software and services should be there for them to use. Saltside currently operates the largest classified websites in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ghana and Nigeria.
