André Karpištšenko joined Skype in 2007 and built three teams focused on quality engineering, engineering infrastructure and data analytics research. In 2012 he left Skype to co-found Planet OS.
Planet OS is an industrial IoT company focused on geospatial sensor networks. André led a team of engineers, scientists and designers to create the first versions of the product. The system integrated data from 33 organizations for a community of 8000 professionals and was used by BP, Chevron, Total, Quieroz Valdes and Premier Oil for environmental survey. In 2016, Planet OS signed a strategic partnership agreement with German energy giant RWE who owns the second largest offshore windfarm in the world. The same year Planet OS released an API for the World’s Weather and Climate Data.
